Transportation to the course: Barbaros is at a 60 km distance to Konak. You can go there with a pricate vehicle from the İzmir – Çeşme highway. You should follow the İçmeler – Karaburun intersection and turn to Çeşme. You should turn to the Ildırı – Barbaros asphalt after 10 km. You can reach Barbaros in 2km.
There are some options if you want to use public transportation. Take the metro to come to Fahrettin Altay, get off at the metro at the transfer station. From the transfer station, take the public bus numbered 725 to go to Urla. From there, take the Urla – Barbaros public bus numbered 737 and reach the village. By taking the Urla – Çeşme bus (privately owned) you can go to the Ildırı – Barbaros detour from the İzmir – Çeşme land road. You can also go there by taking the Ildırı buses at the Fahrettin Altay city garage. From there, you can walk to the village 2 km away.
Structure of the course: It is not very difficult to walk on the course. The route starts from the village. By following the pathways, which go through the asphalt road, the stabilized road and shrubs, you can reach Gülbahçe. The entrance and exit roads of Gülbahçe are covered with asphalt. After Gülbahçe, the pathways and roads in Azmak can be muddy in rainy weathers. Most parts of the course are covered with shrubs. Some parts of the course pass through the coast. Half of it passes through the plain land. Half of it passes through the hill. It might be difficult to walk on the course in the summer as there are no shady areas.   
Details of the course: When you follow the Bülent Baratalı Street in the east direction from the village center, you will reach the asphalt road that goes to the Radyolink Station after almost 400 m. follow the road to the north direction. Pass the pond and the old windmill on the left and the pond on the right. After almost 2 km from the village center, you can turn to the stabilized road on the right from the asphalt road. There is a pond on the separation point, in the middle of the intersection and on the left. From there, walk 2.5 m on the stabilized road and pass the pond on the left. Enter the pathway from the side on the right. Through the side parallel to the Barbaros – Karapınar road, the pathway reaches the ridge. It sometimes passes though areas with many wild strawberries. Before reaching the ridge, there is a wide plain area. In one part of the area, where there are broken bottles, there is no water but you can set up camp in one region. The course has a beautiful view. When you turn east from the ridge, you go until the high tension line. After that, the pathway continues parallel to the tension line, the ridge turns into a cape and goes parallel to the side. You pass the two close valleys. You follow the wide pathway/tractor road. They are parallel to the ridge and reach the sea on the east direction. By passing the İZSU drilling building, you reach the new road situated between İzmir – Karaburun. You need to continue walking for 150 m to the south and cross over. By following the dirt road and passing through the settlement area by following the asphalt road, you can reach the beginning of 12004 Street and the old İzmir – Karaburun highway. Follow the asphalt road to the south, pass Güzelbahçe center, follow the street on the south, you will reach three intersections. By following the road on the south, you will reach the end of the river branch through the gardens. By turning left, you should follow the narrow pathway that continues through the wire fence.
When you walk through the right coast of the river branch, you will see a meander on the left, formed by the river branch. After that the wire fences end and you will reach the dirt road. When you follow the dirt road on the left, you will reach the mouth of the river branch. It is possible to see the ruins of old Roman thermal baths and also the hot water resources from the sea. When you follow the dirt road on the right, you will reach the Çeşme – İzmir road parallel to the olive groves. You reach the pathway by crossing over the dirt road that is at the point of the meander formed by the river branch. The pathway passes through the shrubs. You will see the beautiful view of Gülbahçe Gulf. You will reach the coast when you pass the old stone quarry and follow the pathway parallel to the ridge. After walking 400 m at the coast, you will reach the Çeşme – İzmir land route by going through the summer facility. When you walk almost 300 m east from here, the course ends in front of the İçmeler market.
Alternative routes connected to the course: The course connects to the Barbaros – Balıklıova and the Germiyan – Nohutalan – Birgi – Barbaros routes.
Water resources: There are water resources in Barbaros, Gülbahçe and İçmeler. You can not get water from anywhere except for the settlement areas.
Camping sites: An area to set up a tent can be found by talking to the village headman in Barbaros.
There is no water in the flat area between Barbaros – Gülbahçe (38°21’31.45”N / 26°37’43.34”E). By taking this into consideration, you can set up tent. However, you can come across pigs. You can set up tent at the Gülbahçe coast.
Shopping and Accommodation: The Emek Culture & Art House in Barbaros gives services as a guesthouse. There are ten wooden bungalow houses, where two people can stay in each. You can also have breakfast and dinner in there. There is a grocery store and a mosque and there are two coffee houses in the village. Olive and melon are produced in the village.
There are guesthouses and student houses, where you can stay in the summer in Gülbahçe. You also have the opportunity to shop for food and beverage. There is an organic bazaar on Sundays. Gülbahçe is famous with Arnavut böreği (a type of pastry). You can also go swimming from the coast of Gülbahçe.
İçmeler took its name from the healing water. There are bungalows in the summer facilities at the coast in İçmeler (38°18’35.97”N / 26°40’44.73”E). There is another facility that has small rooms. There is a grocery, bakery and a fish restaurant in İçmeler. You can go swimming from the coast.
Natural and historical values:  At the end of the exit of Barbaros after 350 m, there is an old windmill tower on the left side of the asphalt road. The minaret of the historical mosque in the village was registered by the preservation board. 
You can see some ponds on the Barbaros – Karapınar road and many renovated old wells in Barbaros. The primary school building (situated at the entrance of the village) was restored and was turned into the Emek Culture and Art House. This Culture and Art House is a must-see. You should also see the paintings by Batuhan Bozkurt. These paintings were made with mosaic technique by using pebble stones. This technique has no examples in the world. There is also a monument built inmemory of the martyrs of Barbaros village in the Çanakkale War. There is also a park.               
There is an ancient Roman thermal bath at the mouth of the river branch after Gülbahçe (38°19’46.91”N / 26°39’13.23”E). There is hot water in the sea.
