Transportation to the beginning of the course: The vehicle leaving from Konak can either follow the seaside road through Güzelbahçe or go on the İzmir – Çeşme highway, exiting at the Seferihisar junction. Taking the Bademler village turn in the Seferihisar direction, the beginning of the course, Ovacık village, can be reached by following the sign to the right immediately after going through the bridge. The distance between Konak and Ovacık is 42 km.
For public transportation, go to the Fahrettin Altay (Üçkuyular) transfer center in Üçkuyular by taking the municipal bus, the metro or the ferry. Take the municipal bus number 725 from the bus terminal to Urla. From here, you can get to Ovacık village center with the Seferihisar bus number 732.
Structure of the course: A significant part of the course is a terrain road and a stabilized road, a short part is a tractor road and a pathway, however, unfortunately, about 4 km of it is an asphalt road as Klazomenai is in the İskele district. The course runs partially through woodland and shrubland, mostly through olive groves, plantations and housing estates. The last part reaches Klazomenai skirting parallel to the shore through the residential area. Hot weather conditions should definitely be taken into consideration when planning a hike on the course.
Details of the course: You cross the Urla – Bademler asphalt village road in front the Ovacık village mosque and enter the dirt road to the north. About 1 km further, the dirt road connects with the intersection in Yellice. Walking approximately 200 m to the east following the tractor road, you follow the road to the north at a new junction, almost parallel to the shoulder and 2 km past the Yellice junction, it connects with the a road coming from the Ege-Koop Dört Mevsim Konakları housing estates on the right slope.
The course, leading away from the asphalt at the three-way junction in about 200 m further, leads into the tractor road continuing to the north. 350 m later, the tractor road ends and again the asphalt road begins. This time you enter into the road to Dadaş Kent on the right slope and Çamlı village on the east of the hillside. Following this road to the left, it leads the course directly to the culvert that enables passage underneath the İzmir - Çeşme highway. Passing the highway, you follow the asphalt road in the northwest direction. About 250 m after the highway crossing, you turn left at the wireless tower junction on the right. 60 m further, keeping the housing estates on the left, you enter the dirt road stretching out from Keklik Tepe’s west front skirt to the right. There is an old and ruined house to the right of the road. Following the dirt road through the terrains, you reach the street sign numbered 3300 in about 1350 m. You reach a three-way junction at the end of the greenhouse area. From here, you follow the asphalt roads first to the west and then to the north; crossing the İzmir – Çeşme main road, you follow the asphalt road leading to the coastal road. The road parallel to the shore leading to the İskele area reaches Klazomenai in about 3.2 km and ends the course.
Alternative routes connected to the course: The course, beginning in Ovacık, connects to the Turgut – İhsaniye – Ovacık route; and to the İçmeler – Klazomenai (İskele) route at the ancient city of Klazomenai.
Water resources: There are no water resources along the course. It can only be provided from residential areas.
Camping sites: The school yard in Ovacık village is suitable to set up tent. However, the village headman needs to be notified.
Shopping and accommodation: Ovacık village might not be sufficient enough to meet all necessities. Therefore, it is more convenient to shop in Urla and prefer the hotels and guesthouses in Urla center and İskele District for accommodation.

- Limantepe: The earthenware excavated at the underwater archeological digs in the world’s first known port in Limantepe, İskele, dates back to 4000 B.C. Limantepe gives information about the beginning dates of the first settlement in Klazomenai.
- Klazomenai
- Karantina (Quarantine) Island: The ruins of the Ionian city Klazomenai, built in around 1200 B.C., were discovered on Karantina Island across from Limantepe. The island gets its name from the quarantine built on it to prevent the dissemination of epidemic diseases in the 9th century. The quarantine station was built in 1865 (38°22’26.87”N / 26°47’9.69”E). The remains of the road built by Macedonian general Alexander the Great for a connection to the island runs parallel to the current concrete road.
