Details of the course: The richest olive oil mills of the Karaburun Peninsula are on this route. You can visit five mills in Eğlenhoca and six mills in Kösedere village.
There are five continuous olive oil mills in total in Eğlenhoca and four of them are abandoned while one of them is active. One of the abandoned mills in the village square was designed as a museum where visual materials about the history of the village are collected but it does not have any official regular working hours. One of the three remaining abandoned mills has a four stone system and the other two have two stone systems. If you move towards İnecik and Kösedere villages by going through the village, you will see, on the left side of the road, the active oil factory with a continuous system.
The mosque in the village square was built in 1902 and was later restored by various foundations. The feature of the mosque is that the minaret stones were brought from the Mora Peninsula.
After passing the oil factory with the continuous system, there is İnecik turn on the right side of the road. You can see the stones used to press olives in front of the mosque in İnecik village center. An olive press still exists in the abandoned elementary school yard located on the street below the mosque. Furthermore, there is a historical fountain dating back to the Ottoman period.
You can reach Kösedere village by turning back to the İnecik turn and turning right. You can observe olive trees along the road. If you head down through Kösedere village, you can pass through the abandoned olive oil mills on both sides. Two oil factories on the left have recently been shut down. The ones on the right are the olive oil mills with demolished roofs and two and four stone systems. You can arrive at the main road if you follow the road. When you turn right in the Mordoğan direction, you can see the Boyabağ turn on the left in about 500 m. You need to walk for almost 1 km. If you go left, Yukarı Boyabağ is worth visiting with its beautiful bay and caves. When you turn left, you can go to the Aşağı Boyabağ Bay where caves and ruins like Rome villas exist.
Turn to the main road and then turn left, in the Mordoğan direction; follow the Mordoğan direction for about 1.5 km from the Kösedere – Eğlenhoca – İnecik turn. When you take the Kaynarpınar turn on the left, you can see the only remaining part of the steam-worked olive oil factory unique to the Peninsula, the chimney.
