Transportation to the beginning of the course: With a private vehicle, the distance between Konak – Zeytinler, via the İzmir – Çeşme highway, is 54 km. Zeytineli village Yalı region is 14 km from the Zeytinler exit of the highway. There are several options for public transportation. Go to the Fahrettin Altay (Üçkuyular) transfer center in Üçkuyular by taking the metro and take the municipal bus number 725 to Urla. From here, you can take the 760 Çeşme – Urla bus and get off at the Uzunkuyu stop. The second alternative is to take the Çeşme bus from the bus terminal next to the Fahrettin Altay transfer center. Get off the bus at the Uzunkuyu stop after having passed the Zeytinler exit. From here on you can get to the beginning point with specific means.

Structure of the course: The whole course is comprised of open lands. The freshness and the beauty of the bays on the left and the windmills seen on the right on the route, reaching out mainly in the northern direction with small ascends and descends parallel to the coast, is not enough to cool you down in the summer heat. Because it follows the stabilized roads reaching the fish farms in the bays, the windmills and the airport and continues with the asphalt road for the last 1500 meters, the route, starting with an indistinct pathway, is an easy hike except for in very hot summer days.

Details of the course: The course, beginning from after passing the bridge on the river branch at Zeytineli Yalısı, continues parallel to the shore in the southwest and mainly in the northern direction, reaching the bay with a sandy beach. The road begins at the bay’s exit. Fish farms can be seen before and after the bay. The course, following the road, reaches a new three-way junction by continuing parallel to the hill and the north from the point at the tip from where the road forks. At the left, there is, again, another cove of Mersin Bay and fish farms can be seen. The route descends straight across, directly from the intersection, to the valley through an indistinct path and ascends, again, from the side of the valley leading to the stabilized road. The road leads to the wind farms as well as the fish farms and connects to the Zeytineli – Uzunkuyu village asphalt road. The course, directing towards left on the stabilized road, goes down into the valley through an indistinctive pathway straight ahead at the four-way area to the north. Ascending the opposite slope, it connects to the stabilized road again. The road leading to the northern border of Mersin Bay continues northwest, passing by the river branch area. Continuing parallel to the shore of Alaçatı Bay, it passes the airport junction on the right and connects to the asphalt road, having passed the river branch bridge. Passing underneath the highway continuing on the asphalt in the northern direction, the course finishes 2 km further in Alaçatı center at the four-way junction where the soccer field is.

Alternative routes connected to the course: The course connects to the Alaçatı – Germiyan in Alaçatı and the Zeytineli – Gökliman (Kokar) courses in Zeytineli Yalı.

Water resources: There are no water resources along the course.

Camping sites: There are no available sites along the course.

Shopping and accommodation: The only residential area in the region is Zeytineli village; however, it might not be sufficient enough to meet all necessities. Therefore, it will be favorable to acquire necessities from Urla center. For accommodation, there are many hotels, guesthouses etc. in Çeşme and Alaçatı.

Natural and historical values:
  • Alaçatı: The historical wind mills, stone houses, authentic streets and the market where local produces of the Aegean Region are sold, can be visited in Alaçatı. Being one of the numbered centers for windsurfing in Turkey, Alaçatı hosts schools and international competitions in this area. Also, the pristine bays and unmatched sea views along the course also present different beauties.
